One integration connects businesses to Swedish BankID, Danish MitID, Norwegian BankID and Finnish FTN through a single shared commitment
Sumsub today announced the launch of its Non-Doc Nordic eID Bundle, giving clients access to Swedish BankID, Danish MitID, Norwegian BankID and Finnish FTN through one integration and one shared monthly commitment. The launch also brings Swedish BankID into Sumsub's Non-Doc Verification suite for the first time, completing coverage of all four major Nordic eID schemes.
Non-Doc Verification is Sumsub's suite of non-documentary identity checks, verifying users directly against bank, government-held or telecom records — typically via an eID login — instead of requiring a scanned passport or ID card. The Nordic Bundle brings this approach to the region's four national eID schemes, each run by consortiums of major banks or telecom-backed identity providers and recognized under eIDAS.
Until now, businesses operating across the Nordics have had to integrate and commit to each scheme separately, even where demand shifts from month to month or a market is still being tested. The Nordic eID Bundle is designed to remove that friction.
One Commitment, Four Markets
With the bundle, clients integrate once and draw on all four eIDs through a single, shared monthly commitment rather than four separate country-level agreements. Usage moves freely between markets based on actual verification volumes, so businesses expanding into the region, testing a new market, or already live with just one Nordic eID today can scale without renegotiating a new contract for every country.
- Sweden — Swedish BankID, issued by the country's major banks, covers over 98% of the adult population. Users authenticate via the Mobile BankID app or the desktop application, with verification completing in two to three seconds.
- Denmark — MitID covers roughly 96% of residents, with over 5.5 million registered users. It's overseen by Denmark's Agency for Digital Government and built to meet the national NSIS assurance standard.
- Norway — Norwegian BankID covers around 97% of the adult population and verifies users in line with Norway's Anti-Money Laundering Act.
- Finland — The Finnish Trust Network (FTN) covers more than 95% of adults by aggregating ten participating banks and eID providers into a single broker, supervised by Traficom and Finland's Financial Supervisory Authority.
Built for What Comes Next
The bundle runs on the same trust infrastructure Sumsub is building out across Europe to support national eID schemes and the forthcoming European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet.
