Certification confirms the highest European confidence level for Sumsub’s identity verification modules, strengthening trust for regulated businesses across Europe
Sumsub, a global full-cycle verification platform that enables fraud-free, scalable compliance, has reconfirmed eIDAS 2.0 certification at the High Level of Confidence for key person and business verification modules, demonstrating compliance with the EU's top-tier standard for digital identity verification.
Responding to widening access to increasingly powerful technologies and fraud tactics, European regulators are raising standards for digital identity verification, spurring businesses to deploy solutions that meet compliance requirements without adding friction. Sumsub's certified modules cover both individual and business verification, giving regulated organisations a single platform that is certified to the top tier of the eIDAS 2.0 framework.
The certification, issued by SRC Zert GmbH & Co. KG, covers Sumsub’s Auto Identification, Video Identification, e-ID Verification and KYB Verification modules. The certification reconfirms that these modules meet the relevant requirements of the eIDAS 2.0 framework for the identification of natural and legal persons and, in particular, of ETSI TS 119 461 V2.1.1 (2025-02) standard.
Sumsub additionally achieved the certification for its Fully Automated module, which verifies individuals by reading Electronic Machine-Readable Travel Documents (eMRTDs) without manual agent review.
For regulated businesses, this ensures a reliable gateway to eIDAS and AML-compliant onboarding across Europe, by combining identity verification and Qualified Electronic Signature journeys.
“Regulated businesses in Europe need certainty that their verification processes will hold up to scrutiny.” said Andrew Novoselsky, Chief Product Officer at Sumsub. “Reconfirming eIDAS 2.0 Level of Confidence High certification gives regulated businesses greater confidence that they can verify individuals and businesses to eIDAS 2.0's highest assurance level, without adding unnecessary friction to the user journey.”
The achievement further strengthens Sumsub’s platform approach to compliance and fraud prevention, combining identity verification, business verification, AML checks, fraud prevention, orchestration and case management in one platform.
