The achievement highlights Sumsub’s continuous innovation in compliance infrastructure and its strategic investments in AI-driven verification.

Sumsub, a global verification and fraud prevention leader, has been named one of the “World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026” in the prestigious annual ranking compiled by CNBC and Statista. Sumsub was recognized in the newly debuted Regtech category, which highlights key innovators helping global businesses manage evolving regulatory obligations—from identity verification and AML monitoring to end-to-end compliance and risk management.

The evaluation process assessed fintech companies globally through a combination of quantitative market data and qualitative insights. Analysts focused on core pillars of long-term viability, evaluating criteria such as business model strength, product innovation, and overall industry impact.

Continuous Investment in the AI Product Suite

This recognition comes during a milestone period of R&D for Sumsub, as the company continues to expand its AI compliance capabilities. It follows the recent launch of Sumsub's AI-powered Trust Infrastructure, an evolution that moves the platform beyond single-point onboarding tools into a unified system that continuously orchestrates verification, AML compliance, and risk assessment. Moving beyond static, automated compliance setups, Sumsub’s recent product launches have focused heavily on integrating secure, agentic AI capable of navigating complex regulatory spaces and mitigating advanced fraud.

Key developments in Sumsub’s AI product suite include:

  • Summy AI Copilot: A platform-native AI assistant designed to help compliance and fraud teams significantly accelerate daily operations. Summy provides context-aware insights, case summaries, and, via its recent Level and Rule Builder upgrades, allows teams to configure verification flows and transaction monitoring rules using plain-language instructions.
  • Know Your Agent (KYA) & AI Agent Verification: A first-of-its-kind security framework designed to regulate AI-driven automation. By binding AI agents and automated workflows directly to real, verified human identities, KYA establishes clear accountability for transactions, ensuring that automated systems cannot operate anonymously or slip past traditional KYC frameworks.
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP) Integration: In another industry first, Sumsub introduced an open-source MCP integration allowing AI agents (including Claude and ChatGPT) to have direct access to the configuration layer of the platform. This allows an AI agent to read a complex, multi-page AML policy document and automatically generate a fully functional, live Sumsub compliance setup in minutes.
  • AI-Powered Fraud Prevention: To combat sophisticated, multi-step attacks, Sumsub’s platform continues to integrate advanced biometrics, liveness detection, and device intelligence. The system continuously screens behavioral and network signals to neutralize AI-driven threats, such as deepfakes, synthetic identity fraud, and money muling, before they scale.

“We are honored to be named one of the world's leading fintech companies by CNBC and Statista,” said Andrew Novoselsky, Chief Product Officer at Sumsub. “Trust has changed significantly; businesses can no longer verify customers only at the point of onboarding and rely on fragmented solutions. We believe compliance is transitioning to an agentic future, where AI does not just suggest actions but actively builds and maintains secure, agent-led operations. This recognition validates our ongoing investments in building the unified trust infrastructure and explainable, secure, and human-accountable AI tools needed to scale financial ecosystems safely.”
