Nominees revealed for Sumsub’s new Awards. Winners will be revealed at its event, ‘Multiverse’ event in London on November 5, 2026
Sumsub today announced its UK Multiverse event will take place on November 5, in London. The Sumsub Multiverse community is an exclusive, global network and event series created to unite compliance, risk, and anti-fraud experts. Spanning hubs such as London and Singapore, the community brings together key leaders to share regulatory insights, and tackle complex challenges including AI-driven identity fraud.
Centered on navigating identity fraud, regulatory compliance, and digital security in the age of AI, this year’s UK edition marks the launch of Sumsub's inaugural Trust Forward Awards. As bad actors increasingly harness generative AI to execute complex fraud schemes, financial crime controls are reaching a critical turning point. According to Sumsub’s Identity Fraud Report 2025-2026, UK deepfake attempts rose 94% year on year, and a total of 8 million deepfakes were shared over the course of the year, as AI enables sophisticated fraud that combines multiple co-ordinated forgeries and scam techniques, making fraud much harder to detect than single-method attempts. The report found an 180% YoY rise of such ‘sophisticated fraud’ throughout the previous year.
The Multiverse event, themed ‘AI vs. AI: Rethinking the Financial Crime Operating Model,’ brings together senior risk and compliance leaders to address this shift directly. Together with the inaugural Trust Forward Awards, the event focuses on how institutions can combine real-time automation with rigorous human governance to remain resilient.
"Traditional risk controls were not built to counter adaptive, AI-driven fraud," said Ilya Brovin, Chief Growth Officer at Sumsub. "Building long-term resilience requires financial crime teams to continuously refine how automated verification and human governance operate together. We look forward to bringing industry leaders together at Multiverse to address these operational shifts and recognize those raising the standard for digital trust.”
