Zubale provides an integrated ecosystem of tools and services designed to help Latin American retailers grow their e-commerce operations efficiently and profitably. From dynamic last-mile fulfillment to improved customer satisfaction, Zubale supports supermarkets, specialty stores, and pharmacies in scaling their digital channels with confidence.
Zubale’s offering includes 3 core solutions:
- Fulfillment Optimizer Software – a modular, end-to-end platform that boosts productivity across picking, packing, and delivery.
- Consumer Connect – a WhatsApp-based solution that enhances the shopping experience, increases sales, and reduces operational costs.
- Flexfleet – a flexible, on-demand freelancer network tailored to meet the unique fulfillment needs of e-commerce businesses.
Founded in Mexico, the company now operates in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Peru, serving over 115 clients across 200 cities and more than 3,000 stores.
The Challenge
As Zubale expanded across Latin America, the company began attracting the attention of professional fraud networks, raising the stakes for user verification. Initially, the team relied on a manual process, using a dashboard where operators compared user-submitted data against government databases. While this approach worked at smaller volumes, it couldn’t keep pace with Zubale’s rapid growth.
To protect its platform and maintain trust with retail partners, Zubale needed to move fast. The team began looking for an automated solution that could verify users synchronously—before they were allowed to begin tasks—striking the right balance between fraud prevention and operational efficiency.
Why Sumsub?

Daniel Londoño
Director of Product and Operations at Zubale
One important factor for us was that the document review vendor had a presence in all the countries where we operated, was cost-efficient, and offered various integration methods depending on our use cases. That’s why we chose Sumsub.
Zubale chose Sumsub for its broad geographic coverage, flexible integration options, and cost-efficient model—three factors that aligned closely with the company’s operational needs across Latin America. With users spread across multiple markets, it was essential to work with a verification partner that could adapt to different regional requirements without adding complexity.
The goal was clear: reduce fraud-related losses while continuing to deliver a seamless experience for retail clients and end users alike. Sumsub’s ability to offer both security and scalability made it the right fit.
The Solution
Zubale’s verification process is fully embedded into its core products—FlexiFleet and Fulfillment Optimizer. To protect its operations and retail partners, Zubale requires every freelancer to complete Sumsub validations before gaining access to assignments.
The workflow begins during freelancer onboarding. New applicants download the Zubale app and are asked to upload a selfie and photos of their ID (front and back). When a freelancer marks their first visit to a store, this information is sent to Sumsub via API for verification.
If the initial validation fails, Sumsub’s SDK—already integrated into the app—launches automatically. At this stage, the freelancer must complete a live liveness check and re-submit their ID, adding another layer of security.
Zubale relies on several key Sumsub features:
- ID Verification, with tailored checks for each country where Zubale operates, to confirm document authenticity and match user-provided data.
- Liveness and Face Match to ensure the person presenting the document is real and matches the ID.
- Email and Phone Verification to validate contact details and prevent fake or disposable accounts from entering the platform.
By embedding these checks directly into its operations, Zubale ensures that only trusted freelancers can access tasks, while maintaining a smooth and user-friendly experience for legitimate applicants.
The integration was quick and efficient. Sumsub’s SDK was implemented in less than a week, and full synchronization was completed within a month.pectations in both ease and speed, allowing the company to go live without delays or bottlenecks.
The Results
Since implementing Sumsub, Zubale has seen a 90% reduction in fraud—a major win for both the company and its retail partners. Crucially, this increase in security did not come at the expense of user experience. Conversion rates remained stable, and the verification time decreased significantly to 32 seconds, addressing common concerns when introducing additional verification steps.
One of the most impactful outcomes has been fraud prevention across emerging markets. By raising the barrier for entry, Zubale is no longer a target for professional fraud networks—a persistent issue that had previously affected both operational efficiency and client trust.

Director of Product and Operations at Zubale
We’ve seen that we are no longer a target for professional fraud networks, which was a major headache for us and our clients. Fraud cases dropped by 90%, and most importantly, our user conversion rate didn’t decrease, which is often a concern when implementing this kind of solution.
