Sumsub Certified in the UK as a Trusted Identity Verification Services Provider

Sumsub has been certified under the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF)

Sumsub’s full-cycle verification platform has obtained certification against the UK DIATF. The Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF) is a set of standards and rules designed to establish trust in digital identity products in the UK. This framework aims to create a trusted environment where digital identities can be confidently used by individuals and organisations, thus enhancing security, privacy, and efficiency in digital transactions such as financial operations or online government services. At the moment, the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is responsible for implementing the framework.

Upon receiving the DIATF certification, Sumsub is now certified to offer its digital user identity verification services to organisations in the UK. This certification allows Sumsub to provide verification services at medium and high levels of confidence within the DIATF framework, including additional schemes such as Right to Work, Right to Rent and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. “Sumsub has undergone rigorous assessments in order to receive certification as a trusted digital identity provider by the UK DIATF. Being recognized as a reliable and secure vendor within the DIATF ecosystem speaks volumes to us and reflects the company’s adherence to provide secure and compliant identity verification services. We are honoured to obtain this mark of trustworthiness, and our team’s efforts will continue to aim at meeting the highest standards introduced by the framework,” comments Tony Petrov, CLO at Sumsub.

The UK government is actively promoting the DIATF as part of its broader digital transformation strategy. It’s setting robust standards to make sure innovative private-sector solutions protect privacy, boost security, and enable greater accessibility. The UK government’s focus on enhancing digital identity verification to combat fraud and streamline processes indicates that adherence to this framework is likely to become a de facto standard for businesses operating in sectors like finance, healthcare, and government services–with education, telecommunications, healthcare, travel and other industries expected to join the initiative’s standards too.
