Crassula is a fintech software provider that helps businesses launch digital banking, crypto, and fintech products through modular infrastructure and ready-to-use solutions.
Sumsub and Crassula have been working together for several years. In a previous success story, the focus was on how Crassula used Sumsub’s verification capabilities to support compliant fintech launches. Since then, the partnership has expanded significantly, both in scope and in the way the two teams work together.
Today, Crassula works with Sumsub across multiple product lines and has adopted a more “Sumsub-first” approach. This broader setup allows Crassula to manage onboarding, compliance, and transaction monitoring within one framework, helping clients launch faster while maintaining strong compliance standards. It also allows Crassula to support clients that rely entirely on Sumsub’s verification and AML capabilities.

The integration functions as a comprehensive compliance toolkit. While Sumsub has historically been known for KYC and KYB, it has evolved into a broader ‘Swiss army knife’ for fintechs.
As the partnership grew, the operational side of collaboration evolved as well. Communication became faster and more structured, and direct collaboration between the technical teams improved knowledge sharing and implementation efficiency. One of the key steps in this evolution was the introduction of structured training programs to strengthen internal expertise across the Crassula team.
The Challenge
As Crassula expanded its use of Sumsub solutions, implementations became more complex. What had started with basic verification setups grew into broader compliance environments involving KYC, KYB, Transaction Monitoring, and the Crypto Travel Rule. At the same time, Crassula’s client base continued to grow, bringing more implementation projects across different regulatory and operational contexts.
This shift raised the bar internally. Teams needed to be able to scope solutions more confidently, answer product-related questions faster, and support increasingly complex client requirements without relying too heavily on a small number of internal experts.
External factors also added pressure. Regulatory developments such as MiCA, DORA, and the upcoming PSD3 are expanding compliance expectations beyond dedicated compliance teams and affecting a wider range of operational roles. As Crassula also expands into regions such as MENA, staying aligned with local frameworks like VARA becomes increasingly important.
As both companies saw the partnership expanding, it became clear that internal expertise needed to scale alongside it. Rather than addressing knowledge gaps case by case, Crassula and Sumsub introduced structured training to help a broader group of team members develop a deeper understanding of the platform and its workflows. The goal was to enable teams to handle implementations more independently while maintaining consistent service quality as client demand grew.
The Goals
The main goal of the training was to scale internal expertise as the partnership with Sumsub expanded. Crassula wanted a broader group of delivery and technical team members to build stronger product knowledge and work with more confidence across increasingly complex implementation scenarios.
At the operational level, the priority was clear: improve the speed and efficiency of onboarding without compromising service quality. The team wanted to reduce time-to-launch while maintaining a high standard of delivery.
Internally, success meant reducing unnecessary back-and-forth and enabling teams to work more independently. As more specialists became confident users of the system, communication became clearer, implementations moved faster, and the overall client experience improved.

We have measurably reduced internal back-and-forth as our team has become “the users” of the system as a result of training. In hindsight, this means increased awareness, more confident communication, and ultimately faster launches and higher customer satisfaction.
The Program
To meet these goals, Crassula and Sumsub introduced a more structured way of working built around direct collaboration, shared onboarding, and hands-on training.
Both the Delivery and Technical teams took part in the program. For the Delivery team, the focus was on building stronger product and service knowledge to support smoother scoping and implementation. For the Technical team, the priority was to strengthen their ability to provide more qualified support and resolve product-related questions more independently.
The training was designed to be practical rather than purely theoretical. Interactive sessions, exercises, and assignments gave teams the chance to apply what they learned to real-world implementation scenarios, making the training more useful for day-to-day work and reinforcing problem-solving skills in practice.
The Results
Crassula has seen clear improvements in both internal execution and client delivery. The main results include:
- Faster onboarding and quicker launches, including one of the company’s fastest launches to date
- Stronger product knowledge across delivery and technical teams, leading to more confident and independent work
- More efficient client support, with less internal back-and-forth and quicker guidance during implementation
- Stable verification and transaction monitoring performance, fully aligned with compliance and risk management expectations
- Improved rule configuration, helping shorten implementation timelines and speed up go-live

The training helped us work faster and with more confidence. We achieved one of our fastest launches, ran a successful solution demo through our technical support team, and in one case prepared a demo-ready system twice as fast as before.
Future plans
Looking ahead, Crassula plans to grow its client base while increasing awareness of Sumsub’s newer services across its customer portfolio.
Daria Dubinina
CEO and co-founder of Crassula
Historically, Crassula is among the first companies to adopt new Sumsub products, so we will implement all the new features Sumsub has to offer. We will continue searching for new common use cases and jurisdictions to offer the best quality banking products accompanied with the highest quality compliance instruments.
